Sentinel Controllers

Distributed, Per-Door Access Control

Sentinel is a modular, PoE-powered access control platform built around
localized intelligence at each secured entry point, eliminating centralized
failure points while enabling precise, scalable control across modern facilities.

Sentinel Pods

Sentinel controllers support pod-based configurations, enabling efficient control of multiple doors and readers from a single, distributed unit.

Fine-grained access control for individual doors and interior spaces, with localized decision-making that enforces policies even during network or power disruptions.

Reliable control for vehicle entry points and perimeter gates, supporting high-duty operation, timed access rules, and integration with broader site security systems.

Secure activation and protection of critical equipment and assets, enabling role-based access, auditability, and consistent enforcement across non-door endpoints.

Coordinated control of multi-point entry sequences, ensuring proper authentication, interlocking behavior, and strict movement control through sensitive areas.

Per-Door Architecture

Sentinel controllers are built around a true per-door architecture, where control logic and access decisions are executed directly at each access point. By distributing intelligence to the edge, the system eliminates dependency on centralized control panels and reduces single points of failure across the environment.

Each door independently enforces credentials, schedules, and policies, ensuring secure operation even when network connectivity or upstream services are unavailable. This architecture improves system resilience, simplifies expansion, and allows facilities to scale without redesigning core infrastructure.

PoE + Local Battery Backup

Each controller is powered via standard Power-over-Ethernet, simplifying installation and reducing the need for dedicated power runs at the door. Integrated local battery backup ensures continued operation during power outages, network disruptions, or maintenance events.

Access policies remain enforced locally, preserving secure door operation and audit continuity when centralized systems are offline. This combination of PoE and localized backup provides predictable behavior during failure scenarios and supports mission-critical environments where uptime and reliability are non-negotiable.

Modular Hardware Design

The Sentinel platform uses a modular top-board design that allows a single controller to support a wide range of access control use cases. Interchangeable hardware modules enable configurations for doors, gates, vehicle barriers, and secured equipment without replacing the core controller. This approach reduces hardware fragmentation, streamlines inventory, and allows deployments to adapt as operational requirements evolve.

Modular expansion supports specialized I/O, relay configurations, and control methods while maintaining a consistent hardware and software foundation.

Software-Defined Control

All Sentinel controllers integrate tightly with the Striker Dynamics software platform, enabling centralized configuration, policy management, and system auditing across distributed devices.

Access rules, permissions, schedules, and behaviors are defined in software and enforced consistently at the edge. This software-defined model allows rapid updates, simplified administration, and seamless integration with external systems through APIs and third-party platforms. By separating control logic from physical infrastructure, the system supports long-term flexibility without compromising security or operational consistency.
